Khang Quach, Data Analyst and Cognitive Scientist

About me

Hello! I am a First-generation Vietnamese Cognitive Scientist, attending UCSD. My work focuses on analyzing human decision-making under different neurological and psychiatric conditions to address how to better support people with diverse cognitive profiles.

Background

Raised in the post-war Vietnam Era, my Vietnamese parents didn’t believe in neurodevelopment diagnoses like autism. Immigrating to the US at an early age, I struggled with communication and social cues. My condition caused me to navigate social interactions differently from my peers.

Growing up and meeting more people, my autism decreased. Now as an adult whose childhood was heavily influenced by autism, I wondered how people perceive, interpret, and make decisions under such a cognitive profile and other conditions. This curiosity led me into Cognitive Science and Data analysis, as I explore the mechanisms behind human behavior.

Education

I currently attend at University of California, San Diego, pursuing a bachelor degree in Cognitive Science with specialization in Machine Learning and Neurocomputation.

My coursework involves: Data Science, Computational Neuroscience and Theories, Neural Data visualization, Neuroanatomy and Neuro Systems, and Machine Learning implementation.
